MHT CET stands for Maharashtra Health Science & Technical Common Entrance Test. MHT CET 2012 exam is conducted for the state of Maharashtra every year to select students into streams of Engineering, Medical Sciences and Pharmacy degree courses. However, the selection process will be separate for Engineering, Medical Sciences and Pharmacy courses. The test will be conducted every year during the month of May.

The test is conducted in order to select candidates who are eligible for admission to the first year of four year full time degree courses in Engineering/Technology, Health Sciences and Pharmacy.
MHT CET exam is conducted for students with Higher Secondary Certificate or 12th standard or equivalent course. The eligibility as per percentage is 50 % in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for open category students and 45% for minority students belonging to Maharashtra only for Engineering stream.
For candidates who have applied for Medical Sciences and Pharmacy, the eligibility as per percentage is 50% in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for open category students and 45% for minority students belonging to Maharashtra only.
The examination and selection procedure is taken care of by separate competent authorities such as for Health Sciences, the Director, Medical Education and Research DMER, Mumbai is the authority. For Engineering, the Director of Technical Education, Mumbai is the competent authority.
After the examination has been conducted and the results are out the next process is the process of counseling. MHT CET Counseling is conducted to calculate the total number of seats for that particular year and the depending upon the ranks that are secured by the students, college seats are allocated. The seats are allocated on the basis of ranks of the students.

GATE Exam Know all about GATE 2012
GATE Exam, also known as Graduation Aptitude Test in Engineering, is conducted on all India level and all the seven IITs and Indian Institute of Science take up the administrative responsibility. The National Coordination Board for Gate, Ministry of HRD, Department of Higher Education and Indian Government has given this authority to the above mentioned institutes. The exam regulations and the authority to declare results lie in the hands of GATE committee only.
If you are planning to appear for GATE 2012, then you need to fit in the following eligibility criteria:
1.You need to have a bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering or technology after 10+2.
2.Or you should hold a master’s degree in Science or Maths or Computer Application or Statistics.
3. You can appear if you are in the second year + of a four year master’s degree integrated program in Technology or Engineering.
4.Similarly, if you are in the third year+ of five year master’s degree integrated program in Technology or Engineering.
5. If you are qualified by AICTE or UPSC or equivalent to be eligible for GATE exam.
There is just one paper in the GATE 2012 exam that has to be attempted within three hours time. It consists of total 65 questions which carry 100 marks. There are all objective questions with multiple choices. One has to darken the bubble corresponding to the answer. It is important to note for all the aspirants of GATE 2012 that wrong answers carry negative marking.
All those who qualify in the GATE 2012 exams would be eligible to get admission in the best of engineering colleges like IITs. They can pursue bachelor’s degree in Technology, Architecture and Engineering other than pursuing master’s degree in Maths, Science, Statistics and Computer Application. Additionally, one qualifies for pursuing doctoral programs in the branch of science. There are scholarships available for doctoral students if they qualify GATE exam.
GATE exam is considered to be a very prestigious qualification exam which helps you get admission in the top Engineering colleges of India. All the students get placed from these institutes only after completion of the program and they get jobs in some of the best companies in India and abroad. They qualify for much higher salaries as compared to their counterparts. However, academicians consider it to be one of the toughest examinations and since so many students appear for it every year, it is very difficult to crack it successfully. But with hard work and dedication nothing is impossible; not even clearing GATE examination.
There is also another important exam AIEEE 2012 , IIT JEE 2012 and MAT 2012. The examination is conducted on the last Sunday of April and thus those who are aspiring for AIEEE 2012 would be appearing on the same day for exam. The results would be announced around the first week of the month of June 2012 for these candidates. They would be ranked on the state as well as all- India basis and ranks would be given to them accordingly.
